Diaper Duty




Although my diaper duty days are long gone, I thought it might be helpful to review
some handmade baby bottom products that I was fortunate enough to discover all
those years ago.
As I’ve probably mentioned several times before, my children were both preemies
and their skin was (and to an extent still is) very sensitive.
Most rash products on the market are zinc based and can cause some major irritation
to such delicate skin.
Thankfully a company called Northern Essence took this into consideration and makes
some amazing products that help soothe, protect, and heal diaper clad skin
without the aid of zinc, lanolin, or petroleum.

Their All Natural Diaper Rash Salves are great for everyday use and can also be used
should a rash occur. The salves have the consistency a gel so they provide great
coverage without being sticky or cakey. They can be ordered either with essential
oils or without depending on your preference and your child’s level of sensitivity.
Both formulas are lightly fragranced. Another Northern Essence diapering favorite is
their Better Butt(er) Cream.
It is much lighter and fluffier than traditional diaper creams and goes on like a dream!
It is packed with conditioning oils and butters and contains no essential oil.
It is so gentle that it can even be used when a baby has a yeast infection without
causing additional irritation.

All of these products are completely cloth diaper approved and will not cause build up or stains.
